Oregon BSA Trial Concludes

There has been a great deal of media attention in the Oregon trial lately and while the Boy Scouts of America could have ignored their legal counsel’s advice to remain silent on this issue, they could not defy the Judge’s order to do so.  News stories refer to an incident that happened 27 years ago. We all know that Youth Protection awareness, knowledge, and strategies have improved dramatically since then.  Sexual abuse is intolerable, and the actions of the man responsible for these crimes do not represent the values and ideals of the Boy Scouts of America.  While we cannot address the specifics of the case, since the trial has concluded, we are no longer restrained from discussing publically the issues of Youth Protection and the Boy Scouts of America’s lead in this effort.  Please “click here” for more detailed information on the Boy Scouts of America’s efforts in this area.
