IMPORTANT NOTICE: IF YOU ARE AN ADULT NOMINEE (I.E. 21 OR OLDER), PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR LETTER FROM THE LODGE INDICATING YOUR CANDIDACY. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LETTER, YOUR CANDIDACY FOR THE ORDER HAS NOT YET BEEN REVIEWED OR APPROVED FOR INDUCTION INTO THE ORDER OF THE ARROW.

Congratulations! You (or your son) have been selected as a candidate for the Order of the Arrow, the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America.

 

Organized in 1915 to recognize honor campers, the purpose of the order of the arrow is to recognize those who best exemplify the scout oath and law in their daily lives and through that recognition cause others to conduct themselves in in a way that warrants similar recognition; to promote camping, to develop leaders, and to crystallize the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.

 

Candidates for the order of the arrow are chosen not only for what they have done but also for what they are expected to do in serving the welfare of others.

 

Candidates will become a member of our order of the arrow lodge, Nebagamon, during our induction weekend. This weekend will offer a unique opportunity for each person to reflect on their personal commitment to the principles and purposes of the order of the arrow. The weekend is undertaken by every new candidate and is a meaningful and inspiring experience that will not soon be forgotten.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

 

  1. Online registration closes one (1) week prior to the start of the event.
  2. Every candidate must come to the event with a current parts A&B medical form (linked below), signed by a parent (or the participant if an adult). Participants cannot remain onsite nor complete the event without this form. Form: http://www.scouting.org/filestore/healthsafety/pdf/680-001_ab.pdf
  3. Please eat before arriving
  4. Please arrive between 6-6:30 pm
  5. Event is scheduled to end around 8pm on Saturday
  6. Please remember to bring the following items with you:
    1. Parts A&B of the BSA medical form
    2. Official BSA field uniform (“Class A”) and wear it upon arrival Friday night
    3. Refillable Water Bottle
    4. Work clothes:
      1. Gloves
      2. Sturdy shoes
      3. Scouting t-shirt
      4. Pants
      5. Hat
      6. Sunscreen
      7. Jacket/Sweatshirt
    5. Sleeping bag and pad
    6. Any personal care items
  7. Prohibited items:
    1. Food or food products of any kind
    2. Electronics or entertainment items of any kind
    3. Tent
    4. Chair

Cancellation Policy
NO REFUNDS. Fees collected for registrations that are cancelled no later than one (1) week prior to the start of the event may be substituted towards future Nebagamon lodge event fees, Nebagamon lodge dues, and/or at the Nebagamon lodge store purchases. Payments towards dues cannot be refunded or exchanged. All Nebagamon lodge store sales are final.
