What is Leader Specific Training?
Leader Specific trainings are position specific training courses intended to provide leaders with the information, tools, and basic skills to begin conducting successful Scouting programs.
There are leader specific trainings required for each key leadership role in the Pack, Troop, Team, and Crew. Each training is tailored to the program for the age of boys being served. For example; if you are a Cubmaster, you should be attending Cubmaster Leader Specific Training. If you are an Associate Crew Advisor, you should be attending the Venturing Leader Specific Training. One of the requirements to be fully trained is that leaders are required to attend position specific training. To see what it takes to be a fully trained leader click here.

You will fill out a training record form and will be given a trained card at the conclusion of the training. Your name and information will then be recorded in the BSA online record system as being trained in that position. Please make sure you are registered in the position you are receiving training for. If you registered, but not in the correct position, bring a completely filled out and signed application to the training and we will take it to the Council office to be processed and make sure you get put in the correct position.
If you have completed the other required trainings needed to be "fully trained", you will receive a "Trained" patch at the trainings' conclusion. To see what it takes to be fully trained please click here.
